By the second night of the Randoli Perahera, the procession has settled into a majestic rhythm, its movements now more synchronized, refined, and captivating. The sound of the hevisi drums reverberates through the streets of Kandy, their beats now bolder and more complex, guiding the thousands of performers through the well-rehearsed procession.One of the most distinctive aspects of the 2nd Randoli Perahera is the introduction of additional tuskers, adorned with even more intricate gold-embroidered garments and illuminated decorations. Their stately movements, combined with the torchlight’s golden glow, create a divine spectacle, making it seem as if the gods themselves are parading through Kandy.
The fire dancers, gaining confidence, perform even more daring and elaborate routines, drawing cheers from the gathered crowds.
